Dear All, I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 installed on my current laptop and I'm happy with it. I do not wish to upgrade to a new version and I have the product key for this software. I had visio on my previous laptop and have now transferred all these visio files to my present machine. I want to carry on using visio on this new machine and when I try to open a visio file, I get a message saying 'this is an unlicensed product' and I am uanble to do anything to that file. When I do in fact put in my office product key, I get a message saying this applies to Microsoft office and not visio. I do not know the easiest way to get visio (and cheapest) on my current laptop to carry on using this software. Can anyone please advise?
Thanks Yuki for your response. It appears Office 2013 is not compatible with Visio 2016. I have been led to believe that I have to upgrade office to 206 (and pay for its) and further pay for getting Visio to the tune of £280. I feel this is a rip-off and cannot justify the expense. Moreover, from a point of principle, I'm not sure anyone should be forced into a corner to 'upgrade' their system.

It appears I'd have to pass, unless of course anyone else can help me with other recommended actions/options out there. Kind regards Rex.

If you bought multiple copies of Office and used the same Install button to install Office on multiple PCs, activation fails on the other PCs. This happens because each Install button is associated with a unique product key that can only be installed on one PC. To fix this, you can change the product key for the other PCs where you installed Office. • In any Office app, select File > Account > Change License. • Do one of the following: • If you're signed in, select Use a different account, and then select Enter product key instead.
• If you're not signed in, select Enter product key instead. • Enter your Office 2019 or Office 2016 product key, and then select Install this product instead. If your product key is new, follow the prompts to complete the redemption process. • Office begins the update process. Close all Office apps to finish the process. • Sign in to your page with the email and password associated with the Microsoft account that was used to install Office.
After you sign in, you should see a list of Office products that are associated with your Microsoft account. • For the first product that's listed on the page, select View product key. Copy or write down the product key. This is likely the product key that was used multiple times to install Office.
